Where is the turkey?

After barricading it out of the vegetable raised garden bed the brush turkey disappeared, gone as if it had never been here.
As the plants grew I lifted off the mesh and turned it down towards the ground, not wanting to remove completely just in case the interloper returned. But it didn’t.

Then on one of those quiet city days around Christmas I am walking down along Stanmore Road, when suddenly the turkey appears ahead of me, strutting its strut. I follow it, not too close because I don’t want to scare it onto the road and to a possible premature death.

It knows I am there but continues strutting, no hurry, until it can turn down a driveway.
Goodbye until next time!
