Between the trees in the street garden beds which is thick with a low spreading plant I don’t recognise smaller bushes have been planted, chokeberry, Aronia arbutifolia. Below me there are two. I notice one has flowers, the other not. Days later tiny dots of white are sprinkled over the one not flowering, like confetti. The dots become clusters. It takes me several more days to realise that I’m witnessing its slow coming into blossom.
Are there insects to fertilise these flowers?
Meanwhile the flowers on the other begin to droop, fade and fall.
