The trees in the backyard have been trimmed away from the house. Right back. A burst of light and heat now slams down into the garden which the plants down below are not used to. I water them to help reduce the shock. I think of it as though a canopy tree has fallen and allowed the light suddenly in. The plants will adjust.
The first night after the trimming I hear the possum running about on the roof. The bridge across from the roof to the fence is gone. It too will have to adjust.
The trimming was done to reduce the leaf fall onto the roof which blocked the leaf guards which caused the water to overshoot the gutters and resulted in the house leaking. Always that tussle between species.
